Tradewind Australia is currently recruiting for an ongoing locum AOD Worker to join a well-established community health team in the Geelong region.

n

This is a fantastic opportunity to work directly with individuals and families experiencing challenges relating to alcohol and other drug use, providing culturally safe, person-centred support across assessment, counselling, case management and harm minimisation.

n

The Role

n

Working as part of a multidisciplinary health team, you will provide practical and therapeutic support to people experiencing AOD and broader psychosocial challenges.

n

Your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Providing AOD assessment, case management and direct client support
n
- Delivering individual and group-based counselling interventions
n
- Developing individualised treatment and support plans
n
- Working within harm minimisation and recovery-focused frameworks
n
- Supporting clients with complex AOD and psychosocial needs
n
- Connecting individuals and families with appropriate AOD, mental health, health and community services
n
- Working collaboratively with Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, doctors and other community professionals
n
- Participating in multidisciplinary case management and care planning
n
- Providing advocacy, referrals and practical support
n
- Contributing to community education and health promotion activities
n
- Building robust relationships with external AOD, mental health and community service
n

About you

n

We're looking for an experienced and approachable AOD professional who can build genuine relationships with clients, families, community and other services.

n

Ideally, you will bring:

n

n




- Qualifications and/or demonstrated experience within Alcohol and Other Drugs
n
- Experience providing AOD counselling, case management or community-based support
n
- Strong understanding of harm minimisation and person-centred practice
n
- Experience supporting clients with complex psychosocial needs
n
- Strong communication, advocacy and stakeholder engagement skills
n
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
n
- Confidence maintaining clear professional boundaries
n
- Current Victorian Driver Licence
n
- Ability to obtain/hold a National Police Check and Working with Children Check
n

Previous experience working within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO), Aboriginal health service or directly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities would be highly regarded.
