We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Venue Supervisor to join the management team at The National Hotel ahead of the busy summer period.

If you love a buzzing beer garden, know your way around a cocktail shaker and enjoy leading a team to deliver great hospitality, this could be the role for you.

We’re after someone who can confidently run a shift, bring great energy to the floor and help us create the welcoming atmosphere that keeps our locals coming back.

Located on Richmond’s vibrant Victoria Street, The National Hotel is a community hub where locals, friends and families come together for casual catch ups, long lunches or fabulous functions.

With a sun drenched beer garden, seasonal menu and a great selection of cocktails, beer and wine, we pride ourselves on delivering friendly, relaxed yet professional service.

About the role

As a Venue Supervisor, you’ll work alongside our venue management team to keep things running smoothly and ensure our guests and staff have a great experience.

Your day to day responsibilities will include:

- Leading shifts and supporting the team to deliver exceptional customer service.

- Opening and closing the venue, including cash handling and end-of-shift procedures.

- Coordinating staff breaks, delegating tasks and keeping service running smoothly.

- Supporting the delivery of functions, events and busy weekend trade.

- Maintaining venue presentation, stock levels and operational standards.

- Ensuring RSA,



liquor licensing and workplace safety requirements are met.

- Creating a positive, inclusive and supportive environment for staff and guests.

This is a hands-on role, so you’ll be just as comfortable jumping behind the bar during a busy service as you are leading the team through a packed Saturday afternoon.

Who we're looking for

We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality, takes pride in their work and knows how to bring out the best in the people around them.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

- A minimum of two years' bartending experience and previous shift supervision experience.

- Strong cocktail-making skills and a sound knowledge of beer, wine and coffee service.

- Confidence using POS systems, handling cash and completing venue opening and closing procedures.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a team during busy service periods.

- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to get stuck in.

- A genuine passion for creating great guest experiences.

- A current Victorian Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.

- Australian work rights.

Availability to work evenings, weekends and some public holidays is essential.
