This is an excellent opportunity for a Psychiatrist seeking a regular two-day-per-week commitment, with flexible arrangements available and the potential to develop into a longer-term locum engagement.
The role offers a consistent inpatient caseload, an established multidisciplinary team and the opportunity to work across General Adult and Addiction Psychiatry.

The Opportunity

The successful Consultant Psychiatrist will manage an ongoing inpatient caseload of approximately 8–10 patients, with reviews conducted twice per week.

Key aspects of the role include:

- $2,500 – $3,000 per day, depending on experience
- Regular commitment of 2 days per week
- Flexible working arrangements may be available
- Option to work additional days with shorter hours or after-hours arrangements
- Ongoing caseload of approximately 8–10 inpatients
- Review inpatients twice weekly
- Admissions across General Adult and Addiction Psychiatry
- Review of patients participating in day programs
- Opportunity to develop a longer-term locum arrangement
- Suitable for doctors subject to the 10-year moratorium, subject to individual eligibility

About the Hospital





The private psychiatric hospital has approximately 60 beds and 5 ECT suites, providing a broad range of specialist private mental health services.

You will join an established medical team comprising:

- 4 Visiting Medical Officers
- 1 Locum Psychiatrist
- 2 General Physicians
- Nurse Practitioners
- Experienced multidisciplinary clinical staff

Consulting rooms are available for Visiting Medical Officers, with administrative support provided, allowing you to focus on clinical care and patient outcomes.

Clinical Practice

The position provides exposure across a broad range of private psychiatric presentations, including:

- General Adult Psychiatry
- Addiction Psychiatry
- Inpatient psychiatric care
- Day programs
- ECT services
- Assessment and admission of new patients
- Ongoing treatment and management

The established team environment provides an opportunity to work collaboratively with experienced medical, nursing and allied health professionals.

About You

To be considered for this chance, you will have:

- Current AHPRA registration
- Fellowship of the RANZCP – essential
- Appropriate experience in adult psychiatry
