About The Role

ARRCS are currently sourcing an experienced Chef to lead the preparation, handling, and storage of our residents' meals at Katherine Hostel Aged Care facility in Katheirne, NT.

n

This role is being recruited with full time hours of 38 hours per week on a 7-month maximum term contract commencing end October 2026 and attracts an hourly rate of $35.33 - $37.75 / hour gross.

n

This role would ideally suit a skilled Chef or Cook who enjoys working in a multi-functional kitchen and likes to place a 'personal' touch on their meal design and preparation. You will hold a minimum of Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and ideally have prior experience cooking and preparing meals for the elderly, or large volume cooking.

Skills And Experience

n

To be considered for this role, you must demonstrate the following:

n

n
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or a similar discipline.
n
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a commercial cook environment, with preference within a Health or Aged care facility.
n
- Demonstrated prior experience in the development of menus' and working with multiple dietary requirements.
n
- Extensive knowledge of health and safety legislation in response to food preparation, food handling and storage.
n
- Demonstrated ability in achieving personal goals and identifying areas for new training, development and requesting further training for any development in competency skill checks.
n




- Demonstrated ability to respond and adapt to competing priorities whilst working unsupervised.
n
- Demonstrated ability to empathize with Aged People, their families, and Personal Carers.
