Senior Payroll Officer opportunity within a large, complex payroll environment supporting a high-volume workforce across multiple entities. Working closely with the Payroll Manager, you'll play a critical role in ensuring accurate and compliant payroll delivery while supporting the ongoing development of the broader payroll team. The environment offers significant payroll complexity, including Awards, Enterprise Agreements, payroll tax, superannuation and statutory compliance obligations.

The Role

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for delivering accurate end-to-end payroll services across a large workforce while acting as a senior technical resource within the payroll function.

Key responsibilities include:

- Processing high-volume end-to-end payroll

- Supporting fortnightly payroll delivery across multiple entities

- Acting as an escalation point for complex payroll queries

- Reviewing payroll calculations, reconciliations and exception reporting

- Interpreting Awards, Enterprise Agreements and payroll legislation

- Managing new starters, terminations, leave processing and remuneration changes

- Supporting payroll tax, superannuation and Single Touch Payroll (STP) obligations

- Mentoring and providing guidance to Payroll Officers

- Assisting with payroll projects,



payroll system enhancements and process improvements

- Building strong relationships with HR, Finance and operational stakeholders

About You

To be successful, you'll be an experienced Senior Payroll Officer, Payroll Administrator or Payroll Specialist with strong technical payroll knowledge and experience working within a medium to large payroll environment.

You’ll bring:

- Extensive end-to-end payroll experience

- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation

- Experience interpreting Awards and Enterprise Agreements

- Exposure to payroll compliance, payroll tax and superannuation requirements

- Advanced Excel skills including reconciliations and reporting

- Experience with Dayforce or a similar payroll system

- Ability to mentor and support junior payroll professionals

- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability

- Excellent stakeholder management skills
