Disability and Aged Care Support Worker

Casey Caring Hands Pty Ltd is a growing home and community care provider supporting older people and people with disability to live safely, independently and with dignity in their own homes and communities.

We are seeking reliable, compassionate and suitably qualified Support Workers to join our expanding team. This position is suited to people who take pride in delivering respectful, person-centred support and maintaining high professional standards.

About the role

Support Workers may provide assistance with:

- Personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming and toileting

- Mobility, repositioning and safe transfers

- Continence support

- Medication prompting within the worker’s authorised scope

- Meal preparation and assistance with meals and fluids

- Domestic assistance, including cleaning, laundry and shopping

- Community access, transport and attendance at appointments

- Social support, companionship and respite

- Supporting participants to build and maintain independence

- Monitoring and reporting changes in a client’s health, wellbeing or circumstances

- Completing accurate progress notes and other required records

- Following individual care plans, risk controls and clinical instructions

- Reporting incidents, hazards, concerns and safeguarding matters promptly

Services may be delivered across weekdays, evenings, weekends and public holidays, depending on client needs.

About you

You will demonstrate:

- Confidence working independently in clients’ homes

- Commitment to client choice, dignity, safety and independence

- Ability to maintain complete and accurate service records

- Willingness to undertake ongoing training and competency assessments

- Availability to commit to a minimum of three shifts per week

Experience supporting people with physical disability, complex mobility needs, older people or clients receiving in-home care will be highly regarded.

Essential requirements

Applicants must hold, or be willing and eligible to obtain before commencing relevant duties:

- Certificate III or higher in Individual Support, Disability, Ageing, Community Services or a related qualification

- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check

- Current National Police Check

- Current Working with Children Check, where required

- Current First Aid and CPR certificates

- NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate

- Valid Australian driver licence

- Reliable, registered and insured vehicle

- Evidence of Australian working rights

- Appropriate motor vehicle and comprehensive insurance documentation where transporting clients

- Evidence of vaccinations or health screening where required by a client, service setting or applicable public health direction





Successful applicants will also be required to complete Casey Caring Hands’ employment screening, reference checks, induction, policy acknowledgements and role-specific competency requirements.

Desirable experience and training

The following will be highly regarded:

- Experience delivering NDIS or aged care services

- Manual handling and safe transfer training

- Medication assistance training

- Infection prevention and control training

- Dementia care experience

- Experience supporting people with multiple sclerosis, reduced mobility or complex personal-care needs

- High-intensity support skills or relevant competency-based training

- Experience using electronic care-management or rostering systems
