At Shred-X, we're committed to protecting the future of our customers, our people, and the environment. We're looking for an ITAD Technician to join our operational team and play a hands-on role in the secure processing, refurbishment, recycling, and resale of IT assets.

This is a practical, varied role suited to someone who enjoys working with technology, solving problems, and getting stuck into warehouse operations. You'll work across IT asset disposition (ITAD), e-waste processing, refurbishment, data destruction, inventory management, ecommerce, and recycling.

What You'll Do

n

Working as part of our e-waste and ITAD operations team, you'll help ensure assets are processed safely, accurately, efficiently, and in line with customer, environmental, and compliance requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Receive and process incoming IT and e-waste assets, including weighing, labelling, recording and maintaining accurate asset and inventory records in the relevant ERP systems.
n
- Dismantle e-waste for downstream recycling in accordance with processing requirements, identify assets and items of value for resale purposes.
n
- Test, diagnose, refurbish and configure IT equipment, including computers, mobile devices, servers and networking equipment
n
- Securely erase data, audit equipment, recover reusable components, and prepare quality equipment for resale through ecommerce sales.
n
- Safely prepare batteries and other hazardous materials for downstream recycling.
n
- Operate small battery-powered and compressed air tools, shredders, pallet jacks, trolleys, forklifts, and other equipment where trained and licensed.

- Utilise a small Pantech truck to perform on-site destruction for clients when required.
n




- Assisting with loading and unloading vehicles and ensuring jobs are processed within monthly timeframes.

- Adhere to all WHS and company safety stands - Safety is our top priority

What We're Looking For

n

We're looking for someone who combines IT proficiency with a strong work ethic and a hands-on approach.

n

Ideally, you'll have:

n

n
- Previous experience in IT, e-waste, ITAD, warehousing, logistics, electronics, or a similar operational environment.
n
- An understanding of IT asset processing, testing, data erasure, refurbishment, sorting, or dismantling.
n
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, networking, and troubleshooting.
n
- Experience using ERP, inventory, or warehouse management systems.
n
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately follow processes.
n
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting and meet productivity targets.
n
- A commitment to workplace health, safety, environmental responsibility, and compliance.
n
- A professional, reliable, and customer-focused attitude.
n

A forklift licence or relevant industry certifications will be highly regarded but not essential.
