Registered Nurse (Enrolled Nurses can apply)

A Practice Nurse provides clinical and operational support within a general practice setting. The role encompasses a range of clinical procedures, patient care activities, and practice management responsibilities, working collaboratively with the practice manager and GPs to maintain high standards of patient care and practice operations.

Key responsibilities

n

Perform ECGs, spirometry and audiometry

n

Undertake ear syringing

n

Administration of medication and monitoring of Schedule 8 drugs

n

Wound management and dressings

n

Provide assistance with minor surgical procedures

n

Triaging of patients

n

Administer immunisations as directed by the GP

n

Provide assistance with health assessments and chronic disease management activities

n





Work with the practice manager and principals to develop and maintain a suite of practice policies and procedures

n

About you

n

An understanding and commitment to working within the scope of practice

n

Evidence of Continuing Career development

n

The ability to demonstrate and encourage leadership and teamwork

n

Strength in building customer and stakeholder relationships

n

Excellent communication and documentation skills

n

Able to work as part of and contribute to a team setting

n

Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia

n

Training in CPR, undertaken within the past three years or as otherwise required by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
