Koppen Construction is seeking a reliable and motivated Workshop & Yard Assistant to join our team. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient workshop and yard workplace while supporting our workshop operations.

About the Role

n

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, organization, and upkeep of our workshop, sheds, and yard areas. This role requires a proactive attitude, solid attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workshop and yard environment.
n
- Demonstrate a strong awareness of workplace health and safety requirements.
n
- Carry out general yard maintenance, including gardens, lawns, and surrounding areas.
n
- Perform fence maintenance and regularly inspect fence lines to ensure they remain secure and in good condition.
n
- Coordinate and organize equipment and materials returned from site, ensuring they are correctly stored and accounted for.
n
- Undertake routine oil separator pit maintenance and maintain a clean and safe work area.
n
- Coordinate the placement, storage, and organization of parts and materials within shed spaces.
n




- Maintain clear and accessible storage areas so equipment and materials can be easily located when required.
n
- Assist workshop personnel with general labouring, cleaning, moving, and organizing tasks.
n
- Follow all company procedures, policies, and safety requirements at all times.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Must have forklift ticket
n
- A good understanding of workshop safety and general workplace awareness.
n
- A practical, hands-on approach to work.
n
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
n
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
n
- The ability to safely handle, move, and store equipment and materials.
n
- A reliable and punctual work ethic.
n
- A willingness to undertake a variety of workshop and yard duties.
n
- Previous workshop, yard, maintenance, landscaping, or labouring experience (desirable).
n
- A commitment to maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe work environment.
n
