Vassallo Constructions is a family-focused, locally owned construction business that has been operating and growing successfully in Central Queensland since 1997.

As we continue to expand our building operations, we are seeking an experienced Trade Qualified Carpenter to join our Mackay-based building team.

n

We are looking for a competent and reliable trade-qualified Carpenter who takes pride in their workmanship and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

n

This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced Carpenter who is happy to take direction from the Building Supervisor but also has the experience and initiative to be given a job, understand what needs to be done and confidently get on with it.

n

You will work as part of our growing building team, reporting to the Building Supervisor.

About the Role

n

Your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Undertaking all aspects of carpentry and general building works
n
- Completing allocated work independently and to a high standard
n
- Working as part of the building team to deliver projects safely and efficiently
n
- Following direction and priorities set by the Building Supervisor
n
- Reading and interpreting construction plans, drawings and specifications
n
- Planning and organising your own day-to-day work requirements
n
- Working effectively with other trades and subcontractors
n
- Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail
n




- Maintaining a professional approach when dealing with clients, subcontractors and other members of the building team
n
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with company requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

n

n
- Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent trade qualification
n
- Current Construction Industry White Card
n
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
n
- Demonstrated experience as a qualified Carpenter
n
- The ability to take direction and work collaboratively as part of a team
n
- Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications
n
- Good organisational and problem-solving skills
n
- High attention to detail and pride in the quality of your workmanship
n
- A reliable, practical and hands-on approach to work
n
- A solid commitment to workplace health and safety.

This position is based in Mackay and is suited to applicants living locally in Mackay and the surrounding region. This is not a FIFO role.
