Job Description

The Service Engineer works with the Service Manager and the wider Service Team to provide Scitek's customers, and the Scitek Sales Team, with safe, timely and technically sound solutions to equipment and technical service needs. Based in Melbourne, the role supports the Victorian customer base while contributing to Scitek's national service capability.

Key responsibilities

n

Perform equipment repairs on Scitek represented products

n

Perform assessments and quotations on service jobs

n

Perform onsite installations and provide user training

n

Perform repairs within agreed timeframes, subject to parts availability

n

Maintain precise and timely documentation of all work performed in NetSuite, including service reports and expenses

n

Work with the Sales Team to promote Scitek products and provide technical support

n

Communicate with Scitek suppliers in a skilled manner to progress service tasks

n

Communicate with customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing training, support and recommendations

n

Comply with all OH&S; requirements onsite and offsite, and promptly report issues to the Service Manager

Comply with all relevant road and safety regulations while travelling to and from customer sites

n

About you

n

Valid Victorian (or equivalent) Class C driver's license

n

Proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical faults across electrical and mechanical systems

n

Proficient in the use of tools and diagnostic equipment (Multimeter, vacuum gauges etc.)

n

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

n

Strong, creative problem-solving skills applied to technical challenges

n

Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team environment

n

Well organised, with sound time-management and prioritisation skills

n

Licensed Electrician registration in Victoria, or a current Refrigeration and Air Conditioning licence (e.g. ARCtick), highly regarded but not essential

n

Experience both in the use and repair of scientific vacuum and process chemistry equipment highly regarded
