About The Opportunity

At PMHC every employee plays a part in ensuring we work together to achieve positive outcomes for our community. To help us achieve this we are seeking an experienced Senior Health Safety & Wellbeing Officer to join our team. Reporting to the Manager Health, Safety & Wellbeing, you'll provide hands-on, practical HSW advice, guidance and leadership across Council's diverse field and office-based operations. You'll build capability in our leaders and workers and help drive a Safety Always culture.

To Succeed In This Role You Will Have
n
n
- A degree-level qualification in work health and safety, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
n
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, and formal qualifications in auditing and investigations.
n
- A current C class driver's licence and Construction Induction (White) Card.
n
- Thorough knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, codes of practice and principles, including injury management and workers compensation in NSW.
n
- Demonstrated experience in risk management, incident investigation, assurance activities, and rehabilitation and return-to-work case management.
n
- High-level written and verbal communication skills and strong digital literacy, with the ability to turn data into meaningful insights for audiences from field staff to Executive.

On a Typical Day You'll Be
n
n
- Advising leaders, workers and stakeholders on WHS and injury management legislation, codes of practice and Council's HSW policies and procedures.
n
- Facilitating risk assessments for complex and high-risk activities, and designing and verifying critical controls in the field.
n
- Leading incident investigations and working with stakeholders to make sure corrective actions are implemented,
closed out and effective.
n
- Managing workers compensation, injury management and recovery-at-work cases, and liaising with our insurer and scheme agent.
n
- Delivering assurance activities, including critical control checks, audits, inspections and contractor in office verification.
n
- Coaching leaders and delivering training, workshops and education programs to build safety and wellbeing capability.
n
- Analysing safety data to produce HSW performance reporting for the Safety Committee and Executive.
n

Remuneration And Benefits
n
Employment Type: Full time, Permanent 35 hours per week
n
Salary (exclusive of super): Starting in the range of $112,296.82 to $125,694.47 depending on skills and experience
n
Opportunity for performance-based increase available achieving agreed goals.
