Boilermaker / Fabricator – TIG Welding - Laser Welding

Cheps Laser is growing, and we’re looking for a highly skilled Boilermaker / Fabricator to join our team.

This isn’t a production-line welding job.

You’ll be working across a wide variety of fabrication projects including 4x4 accessories & bullbars, earthmoving equipment components, laser-cut sheet metal assemblies and custom fabrication work using aluminium, stainless steel and mild steel.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can produce a high-quality finish and wants to continue developing their skills.

What you’ll be doing

- TIG welding aluminium and stainless steel

- MIG welding and general fabrication

- Fabricating from laser-cut and folded components

- Building bullbars and 4x4 accessories

- Fabricating earthmoving and industrial components

- Grinding, sanding and finishing welded assemblies

- Blending welds and surfaces to achieve a seamless finish ready for powder coating

- Reading drawings and working accurately to dimensions

- Completing one-off and small production fabrication jobs

- Maintaining a clean and organised workspace

What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally be a qualified Boilermaker / Fabricator with strong fabrication skills and excellent attention to detail.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who:

- Is highly competent with TIG welding aluminium and stainless steel

- Produces clean, high-quality welds

- Understands how to finish and blend fabricated components properly

- Takes pride in workmanship





- Can work independently and as part of a team

- Has a strong work ethic

- Wants to continually improve their trade

- Enjoys working on varied and challenging fabrication projects
