Manufacturing Quality Specialist- 12 month fixed term role

Burra Foods is an Australian dairy processor that for over three decades has been producing and marketing value-added dairy products to the global food manufacturing market.

This role is a hands-on quality role where you can make a difference on the factory floor

You will have direct involvement in product quality, food safety and manufacturing performance

There is an opportunity to investigate problems and turn findings into practical improvements

You will work closely with Production and a broad range of quality and technical teams

About the role

The Manufacturing Quality Specialist monitors and verifies product quality, food safety and process compliance throughout manufacturing operations. Working within the production environment, the role provides real-time quality support by conducting inspections, process verification, GMP monitoring and non-conformance management to ensure Burra Foods products meet customer, regulatory, FSSC 22000, HACCP and internal quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

Verify critical process controls, quality checks and monitoring activities are completed effectively

Monitor production processes for compliance with specifications, procedures, customer requirements and internal quality standards

Confirm finished products meet food safety, regulatory, customer and Burra Foods requirements

Inspect product quality attributes, including packaging integrity, seal integrity,



weight control and labelling compliance

Verify Critical Control Points, Operational PRPs and food safety monitoring activities are completed correctly

Participate in HACCP reviews and food safety investigations

Conduct GMP, hygiene and process compliance inspections across production areas

Identify, quarantine and support disposition of non-conforming materials or products

Initiate non-conformance reports and ensure deviations are documented accurately

Lead or support investigations into production-related non-conformances, quality incidents, traceability issues and customer complaints

About you

Relevant qualification in food science, quality, dairy manufacturing or equivalent industry experience

Experience in production quality, food manufacturing, dairy manufacturing or a related operational role

Ability to conduct quality inspections, process checks, product verification and non-conformance investigations

Proven experience with the use of word and excel

HACCP Team Member training or equivalent

Internal auditing certification

Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with Production, Maintenance and Technical teams

Solid problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes, improvement opportunities and Right First Time outcomes

High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining standards

Working knowledge of GMP, HACCP, food safety, quality systems and Good Documentation Practice requirements
