Perilya’s Broken Hill Operations are seeking a Ventilation Officer to join our Technical Services team.

As a Ventilation Officer, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant underground working conditions across our Broken Hill mining operations. This is a position for someone who thrives underground, has strong attention to detail, and enjoys combining fieldwork, analysis, and problem‑solving.

You’ll be the go-to subject matter expert for underground environmental conditions and ventilation planning: helping to keep our people safe and our production running smoothly.

What You’ll Be Doing





- Manage and monitor the mine’s ventilation system to maintain safe, compliant, and effective underground conditions.
- Conduct ventilation surveys, gas testing, environmental monitoring, and workplace inspections.
- Maintain and update ventilation models, plans, registers, and statutory documentation.
- Assess ventilation performance, identify issues, and recommend corrective or optimisation actions.
- Collaborate with Planning and Technical Services while supporting ventilation‑related projects and improvements.

What You Will Bring

- Strong understanding of underground ventilation systems, airflow behaviour, and contaminant control.
- Experience with ventilation surveys, gas testing, and environmental monitoring equipment.
- Proficiency with ventilation modelling software
- Knowledge of statutory ventilation requirements, emergency ventilation principles, and fan performance.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills with the ability to work across teams.
