Our Support Workers provide individualised, person-centred support in participants' homes and within the community, based on each participant's needs, goals, routines and support plans.

Key responsibilities

n

n
- Community access – supporting participants to attend activities, appointments, employment, education and access their community
n
- Transport – providing safe transport to allied health, appointments, shopping and other activities
n
- Daily living support – assisting with routines, meal preparation, household tasks, personal care and building independence
n
- Engagement and prompting – encouraging participants to take part in activities, routines and work towards their goals
n
- Behaviour and wellbeing support – following agreed support strategies and responding appropriately to changes in presentation, distress or behaviour
n
- Reporting and communication – completing clear, timely documentation and communicating important information with the wider support team

About you

- Reliable – participants and your team need to be able to depend on you
n
- Respectful – you understand that you are supporting someone in their life, home and community




n
- Good communicators – you communicate clearly with participants, families and your team
n
- Engaged – you actively support participants rather than simply supervising a shift
n
- Observant – you recognise important changes, risks and information and know when these need to be communicated
n
- Professional – you understand boundaries, confidentiality and the responsibility that comes with working in disability support
n
- Willing to learn – you can take feedback on board and continue developing your skills
n
- Able to follow direction – you can work within individual support plans, organisational procedures and agreed strategies
n

Experience in disability support is valued, but the right attitude, reliability and approach to supporting people are equally important to us.

n

Remuneration is in accordance with the SCHADS Award, based on the applicable classification, with penalty rates and allowances where applicable.
