Mullewa District High School (DHS) is seeking to establish a pool of Kindergarten to Year 6 (K-6) Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period. Our vision is to have every student at school in every classroom learning. The Role

We currently have 3 positions for immediate filling:

- 2 x 6-month full-time positions and
- 1 x permanent full-time position.

Suitable applicants will ideally possess the capacity to provide a learning environment that is caring, engaging, safe and differentiated to cater for a range of learning needs. You will ideally have the ability to develop positive relationships with students and their families, implement the WA Curriculum to address the learning areas of Early Childhood to upper primary students in all learning area subjects. Quality Teaching is a priority and knowledge of high impact instruction is beneficial. We are seeking teachers who have solid classroom management skills to engage students successfully.

It is also desirable for the suitable applicants to have significant knowledge of the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework to support working with Aboriginal students and their families. An understanding of trauma informed practices, knowledge of behaviour management strategies including knowledge of Positive Behaviour Supports is also desirable. Knowledge of developing documented plans for education, social emotion and attendance will also be highly regarded.

Teachers and school administrators employed at Mullewa District High School in 2026 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $7 000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year.



Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment. The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers

Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.

- Note that south west teachers are not eligible to move to another south west school under this trial.
