About the Role

n

Join Rubicon Water as a Senior Software Engineer and help build the software behind technology that is transforming the way water is managed in irrigation networks around the world.

n

We are looking for an experienced developer with strong Java and Angular skills to join our software development team. You will work across recent product development, existing product enhancement, customer-specific solutions and the ongoing support and improvement of production systems.

n

This is a hands-on senior role where you will have the opportunity to influence technical decisions, contribute to software architecture, solve complex problems and help lift engineering practices across the team.

What You'll Do

n

n
- Design, develop, test and maintain Rubicon's software products using Java and Angular.
n
- Develop robust, maintainable applications across the full software development lifecycle.
n
- Contribute to software design, architecture and technical decision-making.
n
- Work as an active member of a cross-functional Agile DevOps team.
n
- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues across development, test and production environments.
n
- Contribute to the reliability, performance and quality of software used by customers in operational environments.
n
- Work with product owners and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.
n
- Mentor and support other developers and contribute to improving software engineering practices across the team.
n
- Contribute to CI/CD, automated testing and continuous improvement of our development processes.

What You'll Bring

n

We're looking for someone who can combine strong technical skills with a practical, collaborative approach.

n

We're looking for:

n

n
- 6+ years' commercial software development experience.
n
- Strong professional experience with Java, ideally including Spring and Spring Boot.
n
- Strong experience with Angular and modern web application development.
n
- Strong SQL and relational database skills, preferably Oracle.
n
- Experience designing and developing REST APIs.
n
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
n
- Experience working in a CI/CD and DevOps environment.
n
- Strong understanding of software design principles, patterns and architecture.
n
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
n
- Experience mentoring or supporting less experienced developers.
n
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
n

n

Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Maven and automated testing will be highly regarded.
