VE Group is seeking an experienced Accounts Officer to join our Ipswich-based team.

This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working across accounts payable, reconciliations, project costing and broader finance functions within a fast-paced, project-based workplace.

About the Role

n

n
- Processing and reconciling high volumes of supplier invoices
n
- Managing accounts payable and assisting with debtor follow-up and account enquiries
n
- Completing bank and account reconciliations
n
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation
n
- Supporting month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
n
- Assisting with management reporting and financial information
n
- Supporting job costing, project accounting, purchase orders and cost allocation
n
- Liaising with suppliers, clients, project managers and internal stakeholders
n
- Identifying opportunities to improve and automate finance processes
n
- Providing general administrative support when required
n

About You

n

n
- Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable or a similar finance role
n




- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, GST and general accounting principles
n
- Experience using Xero
n
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
n
- Excellent attention to detail and financial record-keeping skills
n
- Strong organisation and time management skills
n
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
n
- Confidence communicating with stakeholders across all levels of the business
n
- A proactive approach with the ability to work autonomously and solve problems
n
- A willingness to learn new systems and improve processes
n
- A professional and discreet approach to confidential financial information
n

n

Experience within civil construction, infrastructure, transport or another project-based environment would be highly regarded.

n

Previous experience with payroll, job costing or project accounting will also be advantageous.
