An opportunity is available for an experienced Heavy Vehicle Electrician to join an established open cut coal operation in the Bowen Basin on a permanent full time basis.
The role covers electrical maintenance, fault finding and repairs across the mobile mining fleet, working as part of the site maintenance team.
The role

- Permanent full time position with staff conditions
- Salary package plus superannuation
- 7/7 roster
- DIDO Mackay or Townsville
- Camp accommodation, meals and site transport provided

Responsibilities

- Electrical fault finding and repairs across haul trucks, excavators, dozers, graders and loaders
- Scheduled electrical maintenance and preventative inspections on the mobile fleet
- Harness and loom repairs, connector replacement and cable fault tracing
- Diagnostics using OEM software and test equipment
- Maintenance of onboard control and monitoring systems
- Fire suppression,



auto lube and ancillary system maintenance and testing
- Starter motor, alternator and battery system servicing
- Air conditioning system checks and repairs
- Defect identification, reporting and maintenance record keeping
- Compliance with site isolation, tagging and the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and Regulation

Requirements

- Trade certificate in Automotive Electrical or Heavy Vehicle Electrical (AQF Cert III), Australian recognised
- Demonstrated experience on heavy mobile mining plant
- Robust diagnostic and fault finding ability
- Current C class driver's licence
- Coal Board Medical, current or willing to obtain
- Standard 11 Generic Induction, current or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screen

Desirable

- CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi or Liebherr fleet experience
- Experience with MineStar, Wenco, Modular or similar fleet management systems
- Electrical Restricted Licence
- Air conditioning licence (ARCtick)
- Field service or dual trade background
- Working at Heights, Confined Space or EWP tickets
