The Opportunity:

Komatsu is looking for an experienced Mobile Plant Mechanic / Diesel Fitter to join our Mount Isa Branch and work on a FIFO arrangement from Townsville.

Based in Mount Isa, you’ll provide field service support across multiple customer sites throughout the surrounding region, including Cloncurry and other regional mining locations.

This is a great opportunity to work across different customer environments and equipment, carrying out maintenance, diagnostics, breakdowns and repairs while building strong relationships with customers and site teams.

You’ll fly from Townsville to Mount Isa for your 7 days on, with flights and accommodation provided, before returning home for your 7 days off.

Working Wednesday to Tuesday on a 5:30am – 5:30pm day-shift roster, you’ll provide high-quality field service support across the Mount Isa region while working closely with the wider Komatsu team.

What You'll Be Doing:

- Carry out scheduled maintenance, servicing and repairs on Komatsu equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues
- Complete breakdowns, fault-finding and repairs safely and efficiently
- Travel to various customer sites across the Mount Isa and surrounding region
- Work closely with customers and site teams to support equipment availability and reliability
- Complete accurate service reports and maintenance documentation
- Maintain Komatsu’s high standards of safety, quality and workmanship

What we are looking for:

- Trade qualification as a Mobile Plant Technician / Diesel Fitter or equivalent
- Previous Komatsu experience is essential
- Previous experience working in a mining environment is highly regarded
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability
- Ability to work confidently across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
- Understanding of mine-site HSE requirements and standards
- Solid communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- Ability to work independently across different customer sites and environments
