Job Description

We are looking for a Design Assistant to join our Womenswear team and provide hands-on support to our Womenswear Design team throughout the ranging and product development process.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for fashion to build their experience within a fast-paced, collaborative design environment, gaining exposure to everything from product development and samples through to Buy meetings and VM handovers.

n

Please note: This is an 8-month fixed-term contract.

n

THE ROLE:

n

n
- Support the Designers throughout the end-to-end ranging and product development process
n
- Create and maintain style files, line sheets and product information, ensuring all details are accurate and up to date
n
- Assist with sketching and creating styles in internal systems
n
- Coordinate samples for Buy meetings, trade meetings, photoshoots, campaign activity and other key milestones
n
- Manage sample storage, organisation and archiving
n
- Work closely with Production to ensure samples are received on time and flag any delays or issues
n
- Support the preparation of VM handovers and ensure all relevant product information is updated
n
- Assist with colour palettes, Pantone swatches, newsletters and general Design team administration
n
- Liaise with internal teams and Stores to communicate product information and updates
n
- On-site role 5-days per week, based in our St Kilda Road offices.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

n

n
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Fashion Design or a similar discipline
n
- 1-2 years' experience in a Design Assistant, Buying Assistant or similar role
n




- Previous Womenswear or fashion apparel experience is highly regarded
n
- Strong organisation, prioritisation and time management skills
n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
n
- A high level of attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
n
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
n
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
n
- Demonstrated hand-sketching ability
n
- An understanding of graphic textile prints is desirable
n
