Brewery Cook/Chef Ocean Grove (30 hrs per week, permanent part-time)

The Blackman’s Ocean Grove kitchen is a high energy, busy and fun environment that pumps out epic, super tasty burgers to complement the beers we brew. We are looking for an energetic, versatile, and reliable permanent part-time Chef / Cook to join our kitchen team.

You may be an experienced cook or a newly TAFE-qualified graduate eager to launch your career, but as long as if you take pride in your craft, are passionate about furthering yourself in the hospitality industry, and bring a solid work ethic, we’d love to hear from you!

Responsibilities of the role:

- Prepare, cook, and present dishes to our high standards, ensuring strict quality control at every stage of production.
- Freeze and preserve foods.
- Assist with stocktakes, manage incoming deliveries (unpacking and putting away), and maintain strict stock rotation (FIFO).
- Practice a strict "clean-as-you-go" workflow, jump in on dishes during service, execute kitchen deep cleans, and strictly follow HACCP/food safety standards.
- Being punctual, in correct attire, and compliance with the general guidelines outlined by the management.
- Attend weekly team meetings.
- Ensuring venue is left secure if opening or securing premises at the end of a shift.
- Reporting incidents and consulting with other staff and Managers as required (minor/major incidents and accidents).





What we’re looking for in our kitchen team:

- Someone who loves to cook great food! TAFE-qualified (or Certificate III equivalent) with a genuine enthusiasm for cooking and a real desire to learn and grow in the industry.
- Sound knowledge of Food and Safety, HACCP standards. You must have a food safety certification issued by a registered training organisation.
- Possess initiative and a 'can-do' attitude.
- Proven track record of punctuality, a strong work ethic, and great flexibility/availability including during weekends and busy holiday periods.
