Snake Catcher/Wildlife Management Specialist

Snake Catchers Brisbane is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced person to fill a multi-faceted wildlife management role, primarily as a Snake Catcher within the Greater Brisbane, Ipswich and Logan region. The position entails on-call snake removal from suburban and commercial premises, conflict bird management and mitigation, and interim Fauna/Spotter Catcher services as required within South East Queensland.

Key responsibilities

- On-call snake removal from suburban and commercial premises
n
- Conflict bird management and mitigation
n
- Interim Fauna/Spotter Catcher services as required within South East Queensland
n
- Secure handling of snake species, both venomous and non-venomous
n
- Record keeping and internal administrative requirements
n
- Communicate effectively and courteously to clientele even in adverse situations
n
- Work with other wildlife managers and company staff where required
n
- Incorporate a safety mindset to your working environment and embrace a company ethos

About you

n

n




- Demonstrated experience in the safe handling of snake species, both venomous and non-venomous (references must be supplied and/or evidence of competency)
n
- Sound knowledge of the natural history requirements of all snake species found within the South East Queensland bioregion
n
- Highly proficient reptile identification skills, especially snake species
n
- Strong empathy towards the welfare of all native fauna
n
- Ability to work with other wildlife managers and company staff where required
n
- First aid certificate
n
- Blue Card (working with children)
n
- Construction industry White Card
n
- Applicants who have previously conducted snake removal activities (including those from other states) are preferred
n
- Must live within the Brisbane, Ipswich or Logan region or be prepared to relocate to the area
n
