About us

The Bendigo Rainbow Hub is an LGBTIQA+ affirming health service delivering psychiatry, psychology, occupational therapy, nursing and allied health care to children, youth, and adults across Bendigo, and beyond by telehealth. We are a close-knit multidisciplinary team with a genuine interest in neurodevelopmental assessment (autism, ADHD, ABI, ID, etc.), gender-diverse health and youth mental health, and we are committed to neuro-affirming, gender-affirming and LGBTIQA+ affirming practice in everything we do.

About the role

We are looking for a Speech Therapist to join our growing multidisciplinary team. You will provide assessment, diagnosis and intervention for clients with communication, language, speech, voice, fluency and social communication needs, and will work alongside our psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists and dietitian to contribute speech pathology expertise to holistic, client-centred therapy and neurodevelopmental assessments.

What you will do

- Conduct comprehensive speech pathology assessments across speech, language, voice, fluency and social communication




- Contribute to multidisciplinary neurodevelopmental assessments alongside psychiatry, psychology, social work, and occupational therapy
- Develop and deliver individualised, goals-based, neuro-affirming interventions
- Prepare high-quality clinical reports, including for the NDIS and other referrers
- Liaise with families, schools, GPs and other services to support coordinated care
- Take part in team meetings, case conferences and clinical supervision

What we are looking for

- Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and current (or eligible) membership of Speech Pathology Australia
- A genuine commitment to LGBTIQA+ affirming, gender-affirming and neuro-affirming practice
- Experience assessing and treating communication (and ideally swallowing) needs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confident report writing
- Comfort working autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)

Experience with neurodevelopmental assessment, NDIS reports or gender-diverse clients is a bonus, but not essential - we are happy to support your development in these areas.
