Walcha Council is seeking a
dedicated Parks and Gardens Operator to join our team. You will play a key role
in maintaining parks, gardens, sportsgrounds, streetscapes and other public
spaces to a high standard, helping create vibrant, well-cared-for spaces for
our community to enjoy.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain small plant and machinery
- Perform tree and garden maintenance
- Maintain Council’s award-winning public parks and
grounds
- General grounds upkeep
- Weed and pest control
- Assisting with public space preparation for
events
What You’ll Bring
- Experience operating small plant and machinery
- A passion for creating and maintaining public spaces
- Ability to follow maintenance plans and schedules
- Current Class C manual drivers licence
- Physical ability to carry out the role
What We Offer
This is a
Permanent Full-Time position (38 hours per week) starting at $1,118.30 (gross)
+ superannuation per week based on Band 1 Level 3, Grade 2 of the Local
Government (State) Award 2026. You will enjoy one RDO every fortnight.
