SOUTH INDIAN CHEF / COOK – POSITION VACANT
KRI-GO KITCHENS PTY LTD is seeking qualified and experienced hospitality professionals to join
our team at our restaurant in Rostrevor, South Australia.
We are looking for an experienced South Indian Chef / Cook with strong knowledge of authentic
South Indian cuisine and the ability to consistently prepare high-quality food in a busy, full-service
restaurant environment.
Our restaurant operates seven days a week and provides dine-in, takeaway, functions and event
services.
CHEF
Full-time | 38 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare, season and cook authentic South Indian dishes according to established recipes
and quality standards.
• Prepare a wide range of South Indian cuisine, including South Indian curries, biryanis, rice
dishes, vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, and traditional regional specialties.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of South Indian cooking techniques, ingredients, spices,
marinades, batter preparation and traditional methods.
• Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, portion size and food quality.
• Prepare and manage South Indian food stations efficiently during busy service periods.
• Ensure safe and efficient use of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
• Assist with menu planning and development, including introducing authentic South Indian
dishes and seasonal specials.
• Monitor food preparation, kitchen hygiene, food safety and waste management.
• Maintain strong knowledge and application of HACCP, food safety and OHS
requirements.
• Assist with costing, stock control, ordering, inventory management and waste
minimization.
• Train, supervise and mentor cooks and junior kitchen staff.
• Manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe kitchen environment.
• Work closely with the Head Chef and management to maintain high standards of food
quality and service.
Requirements
• Minimum 3–5 years' relevant experience as a Chef in a full-service restaurant.
• Strong practical experience in South Indian cuisine is essential.
• Experience preparing authentic South Indian breakfast, tiffin, vegetarian and non-
vegetarian dishes will be highly regarded.
• Relevant hospitality qualification required.
• Certificate III in Asian Cookery, Diploma of Hospitality Management or equivalent
qualification will be highly regarded.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP and OHS requirements.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy commercial kitchen.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and leadership skills.
• Availability to work weekends and public holidays as required.
Remuneration
AUD $80,000 + Superannuation per annum, depending on qualifications, skills and experience.
COOK
Full-time / Part-time | 38 hours per week for full-time

• Assist with preparation of ingredients, spice mixes, marinades, batters and sauces.
• Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, presentation and portion control.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and food safety.
• Follow HACCP and OHS requirements and maintain a safe working environment.
• Assist with stock control, ordering, food preparation and waste minimization.
• Support the Chef and Head Chef during busy service periods.
• Train and support junior kitchen staff where required.
• Take responsibility for kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef or Chef on
duty.
• Maintain an organized and clean kitchen throughout food preparation and service.
Requirements
• Minimum 3–5 years' relevant experience in a full-service restaurant.
• Proven experience in South Indian cuisine is highly regarded.
• Ability to prepare a variety of authentic South Indian dishes to a consistently high
standard.
• Certificate III in Asian Cookery or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety, HACCP and OHS requirements.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Availability to work weekends and public holidays.
