About the Role
As the Social Worker - Senior Clinician, you will:
- Autonomously plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate high-quality generalist Social Work services across acute, community, aged care, mental health and complex psychosocial presentations.
- Exercise advanced clinical reasoning and independent professional judgement in the assessment and management of complex, novel and critical Social Work presentations.
- Lead and contribute to complex care coordination, transition and discharge planning, family meetings and multidisciplinary case discussions, and provide skilled Social Work consultation and advice to colleagues and external service partners.
- Provide professional leadership, clinical supervision, education and guidance; contribute to service planning,
policies and clinical guidelines; lead relevant quality improvement activities; and participate in after-hours and on-call arrangements as required.
Remuneration
This position is classified as Other Health Professional Level 4 - Senior Clinician and offers a competitive salary package in accordance with the Norfolk Island Health and Residential Aged Care Service Enterprise Agreement 2024-2028. Superannuation and relevant allowances apply, and relocation assistance may be available to the successful applicant.
Mandatory requirements
- Hold a university-level Bachelor of Social Work degree accredited by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), or another qualification recognised by the AASW as providing eligibility for membership.
- Be eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Demonstrate substantial post-qualification Social Work experience appropriate to senior autonomous clinical practice, preferably within rural or remote health, hospital, community health, mental health, aged care or a multipurpose health service environment.
- Demonstrate high-level generalist Social Work knowledge, advanced clinical reasoning and independent professional judgement in the assessment and management of complex, novel and critical clinical and psychosocial presentations.
- Demonstrate experience in multidisciplinary clinical practice, complex care coordination, service planning and the provision of professional Social Work consultation and advice.
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience in clinical governance, quality improvement, risk management, relevant legislation, professional standards and evidence-based practice.
- Maintain a current C Class driver’s licence and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- Maintain vaccinations in accordance with Class A healthcare worker requirements and meet all NIHRACS employment screening requirements, including a satisfactory National Police Check.
