What this role actually looks like

Most weeks you will see children across home, clinic and maybe a school visit - a genuine mix. Some sessions are hands-on skill-building, some are running a social, interest based group alongside another clinician, while others are parent coaching where the real work is helping a parent reframe their child's behaviour. Whatever the session, you will be able to accurately report on the outcomes, in language the family can actually use because that is how we do reports here.

You will not be doing this alone. You will have a Senior OT who has read your wins and high-value questions before your supervision session, not during it. You will walk into team meetings where someone's stuck case actually gets unstuck, because six to ten people who know your children by name are in the room.

How you grow here

This is not a static job description. You are stepping onto a progression framework built across eight OT levels - one that measures your growth by the impact you are actually having, not just your years in the seat, and one built with sustainable caseloads in mind. If you are 1–2 years in, that means structured mentoring and a explicit runway. If you are 4–6 years in, it means a real conversation about what clinical leadership could look like for you here, sooner than "someday."

We were doing this before NDIS existed - which means the way we treat, write reports and support families is not reverse-engineered from a funding model. It is built on what genuinely helps children thrive,



with the funding structure fitted around that. For you, that means the systems you are stepping into - treatment frameworks, mentoring, how a report actually gets used - have been refined over two and a half decades, not assembled in the last few years to keep up.

● Protected admin time set aside specifically for planning and reports.

● Some flexibility on where your admin time happens - clinic is not the only place clinical planning and admin get done.

● Full-time or part-time considered.

What we need from you

● AHPRA registration.

● You genuinely believe children's behaviour makes sense in context. You do not need convincing on neuroaffirming practice, you are already curious about it.

● You can write a report a tired parent can actually understand.

● You want feedback and you are not precious about getting it.
