The opportunity

We are looking for a strong, inspirational and results-driven leader to join our Workforce Australia Services (WAS) program as a Team Leader.

In this role, you will lead, motivate and develop a small team of Employment Coaches, creating a positive and accountable culture focused on achieving strong operational and participant outcomes. You will provide day-to-day leadership across two of our Southern Tasmanian sites, setting clear expectations and supporting your team to deliver consistent, high-quality services.

Working closely with the Employment Services Manager and Senior Team Leader, you will translate program requirements and performance targets into practical actions that contribute to Workskills’ strategic direction. You will coach your team to build their capability,



manage their caseloads effectively and provide participants with the support they need to achieve meaningful and sustainable employment, education and broader life goals.

About you

- Demonstrated experience leading performance-driven teams delivering employment, recruitment or human services programs.
- Strong capability in coaching and developing staff to achieve performance targets while maintaining high standards of participant-centred service.
- Ability to interpret program requirements and performance data, translating insights into clear priorities and practical actions.
- Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to provide clear direction, influence stakeholders and translate complex requirements into operational guidance.
- Sound judgement and emotional intelligence when managing complex situations involving staff, participants and service delivery challenges.
- Experience working within regulated or government-funded service environments, with strong attention to compliance, documentation and service standards.
- Understanding of barriers experienced by people facing disadvantage and strengths-based approaches that support sustainable employment outcomes.
- Ability to build productive relationships with employers, training providers and community organisations.
- Solid digital capability and confidence working across multiple information and service delivery systems.
- Commitment to compliance and quality,



ensuring all outputs meet contractual and organisational accreditation standards.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Human Resources, Social Sciences or a related field are highly regarded.
- Current driver’s licence and ability to obtain required background and suitability checks.
