Uniplan Group is one of NSW’s largest modular building manufacturers and a leader in Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), with over 25 years of experience. Our Armidale manufacturing facility operates much like a production line, with buildings moving through a precise, regulated ‘drum beat’ from a steel chassis through to a completed, ready-to-occupy building.

Timberline is a growing Australian manufacturer specialising in high-quality bathroom furniture, including vanities, shaving cabinets and customised cabinetry. Based in Armidale, Timberline combines Australian manufacturing with creative systems, technology and an extensive range of product configurations to provide customised solutions with efficient lead times.

About the Opportunity

Scott Group is offering School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship (SBAT) opportunities commencing in Term 1, 2027 across our Uniplan Group and Timberline businesses in Armidale.

An SBAT provides students with the opportunity to combine their senior schooling with paid employment, practical on-the-job training and external formal training towards a nationally recognised qualification.

The specific role, duties and training requirements will depend on the student’s chosen career pathway, qualification and the opportunities available within our businesses.

What Your SBAT May Involve

Depending on your chosen pathway and placement, you may:

- Gain practical, hands-on experience alongside experienced tradespeople and team members
- Undertake structured on-the-job training relevant to your qualification
- Attend required external training with your nominated Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
- Learn to safely use relevant tools, equipment and machinery under appropriate supervision
- Assist with day-to-day production, manufacturing, construction or business activities
- Learn to read and follow job instructions, procedures and workplace documentation
- Develop practical skills while working towards the competencies required for your qualification
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times




- Work as part of a team and communicate effectively with supervisors and other employees
- Balance workplace attendance, formal training requirements and school commitments
- Take responsibility for completing required workplace and external training components

Skills And Experiences
Requirements

Requirements will vary depending on the SBAT pathway and area of placement.

For trade-based roles with Uniplan, students will be required to hold a current General Construction Induction (White Card) before commencing work in the relevant work environment.

Students must also be able to meet the attendance, training and study requirements associated with their chosen SBAT qualification.

Any additional licences, tickets, personal protective equipment or training required for a particular role will be discussed with successful applicants prior to commencement.

Before Commencing an SBAT

Shortlisted applicants will be required to complete one week of work experience during Term 4, 2026.

Following the completion of all work experience placements, successful students will be notified of any available SBAT opportunity, with employment and training to commence in Term 1, 2027.

Please note that our ability to offer an SBAT will depend on the student’s chosen career pathway, qualification and training requirements, as well as our ability to provide the appropriate workplace experience, supervision and attendance arrangements.
