Safety & People Officer — Make Your Mark at Gason

Are you a safety professional with a strong People & Culture mindset — someone who can lead with purpose, build trust, and help shape a workplace where people are safe, supported, and set up to perform?

At Gason, we manufacture with purpose — and we're looking for a Safety Officer who brings the same energy. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you won't just maintain the status quo — you'll help shape what safety, engagement and everyday people practices look like here for years to come.

The opportunity is real. We're on a safety journey, and we need the right person to help lead it. We'd love to find someone who brings both solid safety expertise and a genuine P&C; lens — someone who can coach leaders, connect with people on the floor, and support a constructive, values-led culture while keeping safety at the centre of every decision.

What you'll be doing

- Leading safety across the whole business — from production to the executive team
- Investigating incidents, managing return-to-work, and driving compliance
- Building and improving training systems, registers, and documentation
- Working shoulder-to-shoulder with our People & Culture and Operations teams
- Partnering with leaders to embed practical People & Culture principles — coaching, communication, accountability, fairness and respect — into day-to-day decision making
- Supporting positive employee experiences by listening to feedback, identifying emerging people risks,



and working with managers to respond early and constructively
- Reporting on safety performance and pushing the needle forward

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone with the right mindset and the drive to grow. We'd love to hear from you if you have both a strong safety foundation and the people capability to influence, coach and build trust across the business:

- A qualification in Safety, HR, Business Administration, or similar (or you're working towards one)
- A genuine passion for safety and people
- Exposure to People & Culture practices such as leader coaching, employee engagement, performance conversations, onboarding or workforce training
- Robust communication skills — you can talk to anyone, at any level
- A values-led approach, with the confidence to have honest conversations while maintaining respect, fairness and openness
- The ability to juggle priorities without dropping the ball
- A calm head, a curious mind, and a can-do attitude
