Smart Tax Search is partnering with a highly regarded specialist advisory firm that has built an outstanding reputation in the private capital and transactions market across Australia and New Zealand.
This award-winning boutique has attracted significant attention in the market for its innovative approach to M&A; tax advisory, entrepreneurial culture and unique position operating at the intersection of advisory and private capital investing. The firm has been recognised for challenging traditional models and delivering commercially focused advice on some of the region's most exciting transactions.

Working directly alongside highly respected Partners and senior dealmakers, this is an opportunity to gain exposure that would typically take many years to access in larger firms.
You'll work on complex and high-profile transactions across venture capital, private equity, infrastructure, family office and corporate clients, advising on both buy-side and sell-side deals from origination through to completion.

The Opportunity

Your role will involve:

- Assisting with transaction structuring and developing practical step plans to support commercial and legal objectives.
- Undertaking tax due diligence and analysing tax returns, workpapers and historical positions to identify risks and opportunities.
- Advising on transaction structuring, acquisitions, divestments, restructures and management incentive arrangements.
- Preparing high-quality due diligence and structuring reports for clients and investors.
- Participating in management Q&A; processes and transaction negotiations.
- Working closely with Partners and clients throughout the entire deal lifecycle.




- Contributing ideas to the continued growth and evolution of the business.

About You

You will ideally bring:

- 2-4 years' experience within a Big 4, mid-tier accounting firm or top-tier legal practice.
- Experience in corporate tax, international tax, transaction tax or M&A; tax.
- Robust technical tax skills combined with commercial acumen.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- An Accounting or Law degree and progress towards, or completion of, CA or CTA qualifications.
- An entrepreneurial mindset and a genuine interest in transactions and private capital.
