Air Freight Specialist

We're currently partnering with a well-known global freight forwarder to find an experienced Air Freight Specialist to join their operations team based in the South East suburbs of Sydney.

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a role where you will take ownership of air freight shipments from start to finish, working closely with customers, carriers and internal teams to ensure shipments move efficiently while maintaining strong service standards.

You'll be joining a high-performing operations environment where teamwork, customer service and attention to detail are highly valued!

The Role
In this position, you will manage the day-to-day execution of air freight shipments, ensuring everything runs smoothly from booking through to billing.

Key responsibilities include:

- Managing air freight shipments from booking through to final invoicing
- Ensuring all documentation and compliance requirements are completed accurately
- Coordinating with carriers, transport providers and warehouse teams
- Acting as the primary point of contact for customers regarding shipment updates and queries
- Monitoring shipment milestones and updating the transport management system
- Preparing and reviewing accurate billing and job costing
- Managing claims, disputes and service exceptions




- Identifying opportunities to maximise profitability on each shipment
- Maintaining strong working relationships with both customers and suppliers

About You!
To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Experience in air freight operations preferably within a freight forwarding environment
- Strong knowledge of shipment documentation and operational processes
- Confidence managing customer communication and problem-solving
- High attention to detail, particularly around billing and job file accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced logistics setting
- A proactive mindset and strong customer service focus

Salary
$75,000 to $85,000 + bonus! Depending on your experience level
