Alexander Spencer Internship Program

The Alexander Spencer Internship Program runs twice a year, with intakes in February and July.

We offer paid, permanent part-time employment (3 days per week), providing university students with meaningful, hands-on experience while they complete their accounting studies.

Our program is designed to bridge the gap between university and professional practice. Through structured learning, coaching, mentoring and genuine client exposure, interns develop the technical skills, commercial awareness and qualified behaviours needed to confidently transition into a graduate accounting role.

Unlike short-term or observational internship programs, our interns become part of the team from day one. You’ll work alongside experienced accountants, contribute to real client work and gain valuable industry experience while completing your degree.

What you can expect

Throughout the program, you will:

- Gain genuine, hands-on accounting experience.
- Work alongside experienced accountants on real client engagements.
- Receive structured on-the-job training and development.
- Be paired with a Buddy for day-to-day guidance and support.
- Receive regular coaching, feedback and mentoring.




- Develop technical accounting knowledge and practical software skills.
- Build confidence communicating with clients and colleagues.
- Develop professional workplace behaviours and commercial awareness.
- Gain valuable insight into the different career pathways available within accounting.
- Graduate from university with 1–2 years of relevant industry experience.
