Wagga Wagga Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (WWOMS) and Albury Wodonga Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (AWOMS) are looking for a friendly and motivated Dental Assistant / Receptionist to join our specialist surgical team.

n

With our brand-recent Wagga rooms now open, this is an exciting opportunity to work alongside Oral Surgeons, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons in a varied role combining dental assisting, reception, administration and patient care.

n

Some days will be primarily reception and administration, while others will involve assisting our surgeons with procedures, operating theatre work and IV sedation sessions.

n

Previous dental assisting experience is strongly preferred. We may consider an exceptional applicant without previous experience if they have a genuine desire to learn and become a confident surgical assistant.

- $35–$45 per hour, depending on experience and working arrangement

- Generally 8:30am–4:00/5:00pm, with some flexibility depending on the day

- No required weekends

- Wagga-only or Wagga + Albury options

- Optional Saturday in Albury approximately once per month if you'd like additional hours

Choose the Option That Suits You

Wagga Wagga | 2–3 days per week

n

Our Wagga roster generally rotates fortnightly:

- Week 1: Monday + Tuesday
n
- Week 2: Wednesday + Thursday
n

n

There may also be an opportunity for an additional administration-only day.

n

Pay is approximately $35–$40 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

n

Wagga Wagga + Albury | Up to 4 days per week

n





For someone happy to travel and looking for more hours, we can offer a larger role working across both practices – generally two days in Wagga and two days in Albury each week.

n

For the right experienced applicant working across both locations, remuneration may be up to approximately $45 per hour.

What You'll Be Doing

n

n
- Chairside and surgical assisting
n
- Preparing and turning over procedure rooms
n
- Assisting during consultations and surgical procedures
n
- Assisting with IV sedation sessions and operating theatre procedures
n
- Reception, phones, emails and patient enquiries
n
- Appointment scheduling and patient records
n
- Treatment coordination
n
- Liaising with private hospitals and other healthcare providers
n
- Medicare and private health fund billing
n
- General practice administration
n

Who We're Looking For

n

Ideally, you'll have previous dental assisting experience and be someone who enjoys both the clinical and patient-facing sides of a practice.

n

You'll need to be comfortable around blood, extractions and surgical procedures, have excellent communication and organisational skills, and be happy moving between clinical assisting and reception/administration.

n

Previous oral and maxillofacial surgery experience is not required – we'll teach you the specialist aspects of the role.

- Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting

- Experience using Gentu
n
- Oral surgery or surgical assisting experience
n
- IV sedation or theatre experience
n
- Medicare/private health fund billing experience
