About the Job

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Roller Operator to join the Shire of Esperance Rural Construction team. This position assists with the construction and maintenance of Shire roads; it involves working in remote locations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Undertake plant operator duties, predominantly roller but also including truck, loader, backhoe, dozer, grader as required, and in accordance with the licences held.
- Labouring tasks including traffic management, installation of signs, guide posts, etc.
- Minor maintenance on machinery.

This is a full time position working 99 hours per fortnight.

About you

In order to succeed and thrive in this position, you must have:

- ‘HR’ class driver’s license.
- Demonstrated experience and skills in operation and maintenance of plant including roller, loader, backhoe, trucks etc.
- Demonstrated experience and skills in road construction and maintenance or earthmoving environment.




- Ability to perform routine mechanical maintenance on vehicular plant.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and with limited supervision.
- Physical fitness to undertake the inherent requirements of the job.
- Knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety requirements.
- Ability and willingness to work in remote locations.

Benefits

Salary: $109,938.59 per annum (including overtime), plus superannuation.

Permanent staff are entitled to:

- 9 day fortnight (Every second Friday off)
- 5 weeks annual leave per year
