MHVP Pty Ltd operates a machinery sales, servicing and repair business in Moree, New South Wales, supporting agricultural, construction and heavy commercial equipment. The workshop provides mechanical and diesel servicing, repairs, engine component rebuilds, hydraulic and air-conditioning repairs for machinery and heavy vehicles including tractors, loaders, excavators, trucks and road trains. The business also provides field servicing and breakdown support to farming and commercial operators across Moree and surrounding regions.

About the Role

MHVP Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Diesel Motor Mechanic to join its workshop team. The successful candidate will diagnose, service and repair diesel-powered heavy vehicles and machinery, undertake preventative maintenance and component repairs, and ensure equipment is returned to safe and reliable operating condition.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 per annum plus Superannuation

Key Responsibilities

- Diagnose mechanical and diesel engine faults in heavy vehicles, agricultural machinery and construction equipment
- Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on diesel-powered vehicles and machinery
- Dismantle, inspect, repair and reassemble engines and associated mechanical components
- Repair and replace defective components including fuel, cooling, braking, steering and drivetrain components
- Inspect and repair hydraulic systems and associated components where required
- Test and adjust repaired mechanical components and systems to ensure correct operation




- Carry out engine component repairs and rebuilds in accordance with manufacturer specifications and workshop requirements
- Use diagnostic equipment, tools and technical information to identify faults and determine appropriate repairs
- Conduct operational checks following servicing and repairs to confirm equipment performance and safety
- Attend field service and breakdown repairs when required to support machinery and heavy vehicles away from the workshop
- Maintain accurate servicing and repair records and identify parts required for mechanical work
- Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and serviceable condition and comply with workplace health and safety requirements

Candidate Requirements

- Relevant trade qualification in Automotive Mechanical Technology, Diesel Mechanics or a related discipline
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in diesel mechanical servicing and repairs
- Experience working with heavy vehicles, agricultural machinery or construction equipment will be highly regarded
- Solid knowledge of diesel engines and mechanical, hydraulic and drivetrain systems
- Ability to diagnose mechanical faults and undertake servicing, repairs and component replacement
- Ability to interpret technical information and use mechanical diagnostic equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively both within a workshop and in field-service environments
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
