About the role
The Major Events and Festivals team delivers the City of Sydneyâs Cultural strategy 2025â2035 through a series of large scale, major public and cultural events.Â
We are looking for a part-time Production Manager to join us in the planning and delivery of Art & About, Sydney Christmas, Sydney Streets, and other events as required. Â
As the Production Manager, you will support the Head of Production and Senior Production Managers in all aspects of the production, technical and logistical delivery of assigned events by managing multiple contracts, suppliers, stakeholders and staff to drive high-value outcomes for the City. Â
You will develop, manage and maintain key event documentation such as site plans, event safety plans, schedules, risk assessments, and budgets. You'll participate in the strategic planning and creative development process for each event, providing input on production, operational and technical elements and be expected to manage and maintain agreed areas of the operating budget. Â
We're looking for someone with:Â
- Demonstrated experience in major event production, operations and technical management, and in the provision of high-level operational support within a dynamic and challenging environment.
- Ability to read, interpret, develop and update technical drawings, designs and site plans.
- Proven experience in engaging/managing a wide range of stakeholders, including representatives of external organisations, contractors, suppliers, volunteers, internal departments and staff.Â
- Strong computer literacy skills, ideally with experience in event specialist software such as Vectorworks, AutoCAD, Project/Teamwork, Microsoft Office, and/or Momentus.Â
- Current qualifications valid in the State of New South Wales or willingness to obtain drivers licence and white card (or general construction induction card).Â
