Branch Manager | Broome
About the Role
Grace Removals is seeking a capable, resilient and hands-on Branch Manager to lead our Broome operation. This is a genuine all-rounder role for someone who can manage the moving parts of a small regional branch while remaining close to the day-to-day operation.
You will take ownership of operations, logistics, people, customers, sales, safety and financial performance. In the same day, you might allocate crews and vehicles, resolve a service issue, prepare a quotation, meet a customer, review branch costs and support the team on the ground.
A house located on the branch premises is provided with the role. This offers a practical relocation and lifestyle benefit for the successful candidate, while placing them close to the operation they lead.
The Chance
This is not a desk-bound management position. It suits an experienced operational leader who enjoys variety, takes ownership and is comfortable making decisions independently. You will lead office and field employees and work closely with customers, suppliers, contractors and Grace branches across Australia.
Broome offers a unique regional lifestyle, but the conditions and workload can be demanding. The Northwest summer is hot, operational priorities can change quickly, and leading crews requires consistency, sound judgement and a willingness to step in when needed. The right person will see that challenge as part of the opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
Operations and Logistics
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the Broome branch.
- Plan and coordinate removals, storage, transport and logistics activities.
- Allocate crews, vehicles, equipment and contractors to meet operational requirements.
- Respond quickly to changing priorities, service issues and regional logistics challenges.
- Maintain branch facilities, vehicles, plant and equipment to required standards.
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, profitably and to a high service standard.
Team Leadership
- Lead, support and hold accountable a diverse team of office and field employees.
- Build a practical, respectful and safety-focused branch culture.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, training, performance and employee development.
- Set clear expectations and remain visible and engaged with crews and operational teams.
- Provide calm, decisive leadership during busy periods and challenging situations.
Sales and Customer Relationships
- Manage enquiries, prepare quotations and convert suitable opportunities.
- Maintain strong relationships with local, corporate and government customers.
- Identify new business opportunities across Broome and the wider region.
- Represent Grace professionally within the local community and business network.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly, fairly and professionally.
Commercial and Financial Management
- Take responsibility for branch revenue, costs, profitability and budget performance.
- Review trading results and act on areas requiring improvement.
- Control labour, fleet and operating costs without compromising safety or service.
- Support debtor management, reporting and financial deadlines.
- Develop and deliver branch business plans and performance targets.
Safety, Quality and Compliance
- Champion workplace health and safety across all branch activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality systems and legal obligations.
- Conduct and review risk assessments and safe work practices.
- Maintain professional standards across staff presentation, vehicles, facilities and customer communication.
- Review service failures, complaints and claims, and implement practical improvements.
About You
You are an operational all-rounder who can move comfortably between planning, people leadership, customers, sales and problem-solving.
You do not need to come from the removals industry (although it is very helpful), but you must understand hands-on service delivery and the realities of leading an operational workforce.
- Proven leadership experience in operations, logistics, transport, removals, warehousing, service delivery or a related field.
- Experience managing crews, drivers, contractors or other field-based teams.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
- Commercial awareness, including an understanding of budgets, costs and profitability.
- Confidence dealing with customers, preparing quotes and developing business.
- A practical, calm and solutions-focused approach.
- The resilience and adaptability required for regional living and Northwest conditions.
- A willingness to lead from the front and assist wherever the branch needs you.
- Strong communication skills and sound judgement.
What Is Provided
- Company-provided house located on the branch premises.
- A high-autonomy leadership role with genuine ownership of branch performance.
- Support from regional and national teams.
- The backing of an established Australian removals and logistics business.
- Career development opportunities across the broader Grace Group.
- The opportunity to live and work in Broome and experience the Kimberley lifestyle.
The Reality of the Role
This is a rewarding role, but it is not for everyone. It involves peak workloads, hot summer conditions, competing priorities and the day-to-day realities of managing an operational workforce in a regional location.
Success requires energy, resilience, flexibility and a willingness to take full ownership. In return, you will have the opportunity to lead a branch where your decisions and effort make a visible difference every day.
Apply Now
If you are looking for a genuine operational leadership role, want broad responsibility and are ready for the challenge and lifestyle of Broome, we would like to hear from you.
Applications from experienced regional, transport, logistics and service-delivery leaders are encouraged.
