L1 Senior Cloud Engineer

Duration

: 12 months with potential for up to 24 month extension
Location: QLD, ACT, VIC, NSW
Clearance: Baseline
Hourly rate: $83 - $91 per hour

Our federal government client is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to join a collaborative and high-performing technology team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of enterprise-scale cloud and on-premises solutions within a energetic and fast-paced environment.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable software solutions while supporting the delivery of innovative digital services.

Key Responsibilities

- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, estimation, and team collaboration activities.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain clean, scalable, and high-quality software solutions.
- Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and best-practice software development processes.

Essential Skills and Experience

- Demonstrated experience working as a Software Engineer or Cloud Engineer within enterprise-level environments.
- Experience delivering cloud-based and on-premises solutions, including integration between the two.
- Strong experience working within Agile delivery frameworks and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent written, verbal,



and virtual communication skills.
- Experience with one or more of the following technologies:
- .NET
- C#
- SQL
- Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
- REST APIs / Web Services
- CI/CD practices and deployment pipelines

Desirable Skills and Experience:

- JavaScript, TypeScript, Vue.js, or other modern frontend frameworks
- Bash or PowerShell scripting
- Version control systems such as Git
- Unit testing and automated testing frameworks
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Cloud platform provisioning and management
- Azure Data Services and environments
- Azure DevOps and pipeline automation
- Previous experience working within large or complex organisational environments
