As a Senior People and Culture Business Partner at Yarra Ranges Council, you will work closely with leaders across the organisation to provide clear, practical advice across a broad range of workplace matters. You will support workforce planning, organisational change, employee performance and conduct, grievances, workplace investigations, industrial relations and the interpretation of the Enterprise Agreement, policies and employment legislation.
You will also drive improvements to People and Culture policies, systems and processes, contribute to organisational projects, build constructive relationships with unions and other stakeholders, and help deliver fair, consistent and timely outcomes for employees and Council.
- This is a full-time permanent Band 7 position (38 hours per week) with a salary range between $113,574 and $122,529 per annum, plus superannuation.

Experience and skills we’re looking for
- Extensive knowledge and experience in managing a range of unique and complex workplace relations issues, performance management, change management, grievances, and disputes.
- Experience interpreting and applying enterprise agreements, workplace policies and procedures.
- The ability to manage complex employee matters, including grievances, investigations, performance concerns and conduct matters.
- Experience supporting leaders through organisational change and workforce planning.
- The ability to assess workplace risks and provide clear, practical and evidence-based recommendations.Experience using workforce data and trends to identify issues and support decision-making.
- The ability to build trusted working relationships with senior leaders, employees, unions and other stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex information in plain language.
- The ability to lead projects, improve processes and support teams to adopt new ways of working.
