About the role

Reporting to the Manager Corporate Services and based out of our Head Office in Somersby NSW, the Financial Controller is responsible for the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of all financial activities across SPA, and for the leadership and development of the finance team. The role oversees the financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, treasury, tax, payroll and compliance functions and delivers the financial insight that supports executive and operational decision making. We are looking for candidates who have exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of team.

Job Description

Duties

- ERP Ownership (Jobpac) including the integrity, security and control of financial data held in the system.




- Leadership of the Finance Team covering accounting, payroll and accounts payable.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, ensuring all reporting is accurate, timely and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Manage the annual budget and rolling forecast process, including preparation, consolidation, analysis and reporting.
- Provide finance support to Business Managers and Regional Managers, assisting with financial planning, budgeting, project profitability and analysis.
- Maintain banking arrangements and manage the financing needs of the business.
- Manage all taxation obligations of the company.
- Coordinate the external audit process.
- Manage the financial information, reporting and support needs of a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

Desired Skills and Experience

Skills & Experience

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA ANZ) or Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA Australia)
- Expert technical accounting knowledge, including Australian Accounting Standards, statutory reporting and consolidations.
- Strong, practical ERP knowledge, direct Jobpac experience is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting,



cash flow management, treasury and banking arrangements.
- Comprehensive taxation knowledge covering company tax, GST, FBT, payroll tax and the associated compliance obligations.
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement and monitor internal financial controls and to coordinate the external audit process.
- Civil contracting or heavy construction industry accounting experience will be highly regarded.
