About the Role

We're seeking a Financial Control Accountant to join our Finance team on a 6-month fixed term contract/secondment, to support the delivery of accurate, timely and well-controlled financial accounting activities. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an accountant looking to strengthen their financial control experience while developing deeper expertise in general ledger management, reconciliations and governance. Working within a supportive team, you'll contribute to month-end activities, process improvement initiatives and the delivery of high-quality financial outcomes.

What You'll Do

- Prepare monthly journal entries and support month-end close activities, ensuring financial information is accurate, complete, compliant and delivered within established timeframes.
- Complete balance sheet, bank and general ledger reconciliations, investigate reconciling items and resolve ledger issues with well-supported outcomes.
- Ensure financial transactions are correctly recorded in the general ledger and support accurate financial reporting through quality inputs, analysis and documentation.
- Partner with stakeholders across Finance and the business to deliver financial control activities and resolve accounting issues in a timely manner.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and improve financial processes, contributing to transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support audit requirements, governance activities and control reporting by maintaining accurate records,



responding to audit queries and ensuring compliance with established procedures.

What You'll Bring

- 2+ years' experience in an accounting, financial accounting, finance accountant or similar role, with exposure to journals, reconciliations, month-end processes and general ledger activities.
- Experience working within a medium to large organisation using enterprise accounting systems, with exposure to Oracle or similar financial platforms highly regarded.
- Strong technical accounting skills with an understanding of financial controls, governance requirements and month-end processes.
- Experience using reconciliation tools such as Oracle Account Reconciliation Cloud Service (ARCS) or similar platforms.
- Strong Excel capability and confidence working with financial data to support analysis, reconciliations and reporting outcomes.
- CA/CPA studies commenced or willingness to commence will be highly regarded.
- A high level of attention to detail, enabling you to identify issues, investigate variances and deliver accurate financial outcomes.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills that help you build solid working relationships across finance and business teams.
