Gympie Regional Council has an exciting internal opportunity available for an Officer Corporate Assets role, providing essential support to asset custodians across Council and helping ensure our asset information is accurate, complete and fit for purpose. This is a fixed term fulltime position through to July 2027.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, building relationships across different areas of Council, and contributing to better asset management and decision-making.

What you'll be doing

In this role, you will:

- Work closely with Asset Custodians, Asset Planners and other roles within Council's Asset Responsibility Framework to ensure asset data is complete, accurate and reliable.

- Provide asset information and reporting to Council officers, consultants, contractors, developers, residents, government and statutory agencies.

- Support the recognition and recording of new and changing assets, including capital, donated and found assets.

- Assist with developing workflows,



processes and procedures for asset data management within Council's corporate Asset Information System.

- Support Finance and asset management teams with asset revaluations and condition assessments.

- Help maintain the integrity of Council's asset registers and contribute to continuous improvements in asset information and management practices.

What we're looking for

You'll bring:

- Experience in asset management and/or finance .

- A sound understanding of civil infrastructure assets and asset management principles.

- Experience using asset management registers and databases , including maintaining and improving data.

- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a range of stakeholders to collect and validate information.

- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.

- General awareness of the ISO 55000 Asset Management standards .

- General awareness of Australian Accounting Standards relating to assets, including AASB 116 and AASB 13 .

Experience with QGIS or other spatial software, FME, and/or IPWEA's ADAC data standard will be highly regarded .

Essential requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold and maintain:

- A current Queensland C Class driver's licence .

- A General Construction Induction (White/Blue Card) .
