Part Time Leadership opportunity Specialist fertility care

Fertility Tasmania is seeking an experienced and passionate Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to join our dedicated team and play a key leadership role in delivering exceptional patient care throughout the fertility journey.

This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse who is passionate about reproductive health, patient-centred care and supporting a high-performing clinical team in a specialist IVF environment.

About the role

As Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide clinical leadership and operational oversight of our nursing team, ensuring the delivery of safe, compassionate and high-quality care to patients undergoing fertility treatment.

Working closely with our fertility specialists, embryologists, administration team and wider clinical team, you will help ensure a seamless patient experience from initial consultation through treatment and beyond.

Key responsibilities

- Provide effective clinical leadership, guidance and support to the nursing team

- Coordinate the day-to-day clinical operations of the nursing unit

- Ensure high standards of patient care, safety and clinical practice

- Support and mentor nurses and contribute to staff development and education

- Assist with workforce planning, rostering and allocation of clinical resources

- Maintain compliance with relevant clinical standards, policies and regulatory requirements

- Promote a positive culture of teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement

- Work collaboratively with fertility specialists,



embryologists and the broader multidisciplinary team

- Support the development, implementation and review of clinical policies and procedures

- Monitor clinical outcomes and contribute to quality improvement initiatives

- Provide compassionate and supportive care to patients and their partners throughout what can be an emotionally challenging journey

- Assist with the coordination and delivery of IVF, fertility and associated reproductive health treatments

About you

We are looking for a confident and compassionate nurse who is ready to take the next step in their leadership career.

You will ideally have:

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse

- Relevant nursing qualifications and significant clinical experience

- Previous leadership or Nurse Unit Manager experience

- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills

- A strong commitment to patient-centred care

- The ability to lead, motivate and support a multidisciplinary team

- Strong clinical judgement and attention to detail

- A proactive approach to quality improvement and clinical governance

- The ability to work effectively in a quick-paced specialist healthcare environment

Essential





- Minimum of 3 year's experience as a Fertility Nurse

Experience in fertility, IVF, reproductive health, women's health or a related specialty will be highly regarded, but is not essential for the right candidate.
