People & Culture Advisor

Make every employee moment count.

Join Burwood Council as our People & Culture Advisor and help create a workplace where people feel welcomed, supported and connected. In this varied role, you'll bring employee initiatives to life, deliver seamless onboarding, support accurate payroll and HR systems, and keep essential People & Culture services running smoothly. If you enjoy variety, take pride in the detail and love helping people, this is an opportunity to make a visible impact across the employee lifecycle.

What you'll do

- Bring engagement, recognition, wellbeing and culture initiatives to life.
- Create a welcoming, well-organised experience for employees joining and leaving Council.
- Keep payroll, employee changes, HRIS data and records accurate and on track.
- Contribute to projects, reporting and smarter ways of working across People & Culture.

About you

- A Diploma in Human Resources or a related discipline,



or equivalent employee lifecycle experience.
- A genuine service mindset and the confidence to build strong relationships at every level.
- Excellent organisation, sound judgement and an eye for detail, even when priorities compete.
- Strong Microsoft Office and systems skills, plus a current C Class driver licence.

Key Requirements:

- Willingness to complete a National Police History Check
- Current Driver's Licence
- Local Government working experience an advantage
