The Opportunity

The Children’s Diabetes Centre of The Kids Research Institute Australia, together with the Diabetes Service of Perth Children’s Hospital, is an integrated research and clinical centre. The key focus of our work is to improve the health of children, adolescents and young people living with type 1 diabetes. We have a rare opportunity for a leader in digital health to join the team to oversee the Data research program of the Centre.

Reporting to the Children’s Diabetes Centre Co-Directors, you will manage a comprehensive program of work focused on the development and implementation of patient, clinical and researcher facing digital solutions, leading cross-functional teams, managing vendor partnerships, and ensuring that ethical and regulatory requirements are met.

Key responsibilities:

- Leadership of new innovations and advancement of the Data program within the Children’s Diabetes Centre and Chronic Disease Theme at The Kids Research Institute Australia.

- Leadership of the Data research team.

- Project management including financial, ethical, regulatory and governance requirements for projects within the Data program.

- Ensuring long-term sustainability of developed solutions.

- Preparation of reports, publications and presentations to a variety of audiences.

- Supporting the translation of research findings into practice and policy.

- This is a varied role and a great opportunity to join a dynamic research environment, where the research is translated into meaningful outcomes for families.

Based within Perth Children’s Hospital in Nedlands, this full-time role will offered for an initial 2-year period. Part-time (0.8 FTE) will be considered for the right candidate.

About You

The ideal candidate will have experience in a health or research environment and program/project management,



and a sound understanding of data platforms, analytics, and digital health solutions.

The key to your success will be:

- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects.

- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.

- Experience in budget management and financial reporting.

- Track record in grant application processes and securing research funding.

- Knowledge of health data governance, ethics, and regulatory requirements.

- Proven track record in meaningful consumer and community involvement.
