This is a permanent, full-time (1.0FTE) position commencing ASAP.

We are looking for a strategic thinker who has the ability to translate innovative ideas into practical strategies and operational plans that deliver measurable outcomes and lasting impact.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on how WA public schools attract and appoint the people who make a difference every day. As Principal Consultant - Staffing Services, you will lead the development, implementation and evaluation of reform initiatives, staffing policies, practices, professional learning programs and support services, that promote best-practice in staffing, and build the capacity of hiring managers across the Department.

Working closely with school leaders and hiring managers, you will identify opportunities for continuous improvement in staffing practices, and create conditions that support them to make high quality staffing decisions. Through your expertise and leadership, you will help shape workforce practices at a system level, driving consistent, effective and future-focused staffing outcomes for schools and Department business areas.

Working in a small, collaborative team within the Staffing Services Directorate, you will contribute to initiatives that enhance staffing services and support workforce excellence across the Department. The team is responsible for:

- Driving improvements in staffing and workforce practices.
- Implementing workforce reform initiatives.
- Building capability and confidence of hiring managers.
- Supporting high-quality and equitable employment outcomes.

1. Demonstrated extensive knowledge of human resources policy, procedures and practices within the public sector legislative framework and an understanding of the application of these within a large decentralised and complex organisation.
2. Demonstrated highly developed strategic management and change management skills with the ability to lead the delivery of strategic outcomes within agreed timeframes and in a customer-focused manner.
3. Demonstrated high-level written communication and presentation skills, including extensive experience in the preparation of briefings, reports, frameworks and policy.
