We're partnering with key Defence primes across South Australia and are keen to connect with WHSE Advisors looking to make an impact in the sector.

The Opportunity
You'll act as a trusted advisor to operational leaders and frontline teams, embedding practical safety and environmental practices across day-to-day activity. Rather than sitting behind a desk, you'll be visible on site, coaching supervisors, influencing behaviours and supporting a culture where people genuinely engage with safety.

Working across engineering, production and support functions, you'll help ensure compliance obligations are met while driving continuous improvement across the WHSE management system.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide day-to-day WHSE advice and support to operational teams and leadership.
- Conduct inspections, audits, risk assessments and workplace observations.
- Lead and support incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective action tracking.
- Support the development and review of procedures, safe work method statements and management plans.
- Deliver toolbox talks, inductions and targeted WHSE training.
- Monitor compliance against legislative requirements and internal standards. Support environmental obligations including waste, emissions and licence conditions.
- Maintain WHSE records, registers and reporting.
- Contribute to safety campaigns, committees and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You
We're interested in hearing from WHSE professionals who can balance compliance with practicality and build genuine credibility with frontline teams.
You may come from Defence,



shipbuilding, maritime, oil and gas, mining, construction or another heavy industrial environment, but you'll bring:

- Demonstrated experience in a WHS, HSE or HSEQ advisory role within an operational setting.
- A relevant qualification such as a Diploma or Degree in Work Health and Safety. Sound working knowledge of WHS legislation, codes of practice and relevant standards including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
- Experience conducting audits, inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Strong communication and influencing skills across all levels, from trades to senior leadership.
- Confidence working autonomously in a fast-paced, changing workplace. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or ICAM/TapRooT investigation training will be well regarded.

Eligibility
Applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and National Police Clearance.
